Soft Seasoning Bottle
Redesigning a Familiar Utensil
In daily life, I often encountered issues with seasoning bottles. Sometimes, humidity causes the seasoning to solidify and block the opening, while other times, too much comes out at once. I wanted to solve these problems and create a seasoning bottle that offers better control and usability.
I started by focusing on the direction in which the seasoning is dispensed, as well as the bottle’s design and material. Through experimentation, I chose silicone as the primary material. Its soft, textured surface helps break up hardened seasoning, preventing clogging. Additionally, the friction of the silicone ensures that even when the bottle is turned upside down, the seasoning won’t spill out uncontrollably unless pressure is applied.
